According to the Native American Iroquois “Orenda” or “Aurenda” is a term for the incredible physical power that channels the collective energy into animate and inanimate objects. For the Ancient Bulgarians, “Orenda” is the sacred term for spiritual power reflected in all of us – the energy that organizes life and shapes the world.

Aurenda Heritage Foundation has chosen this word for its namesake to call upon the powers of the Bulgarian ancestral spirit, but also to point to the fact that the belief in an all-pervading, primordial power connects cultures through time and space. And what better form can inspiration or ‘aurenda’ take, but the form of art and music? The artist, as inspired and inspiring, brings us together through the universal language of art.
